The suspect wanted in connection with a local bank robbery in July has been identified and arrested by San Jose Police officers.

Officers arrested San Jose resident Spencer Havens Sept. 15, according to a department press release published Thursday.
Havens, 25, is suspected of robbing six banks throughout Santa Clara County between July 19 and Sept. 13, according to the release. The first robbery occurred at the Wells Fargo located at the intersection of Foothill Expressway and Homestead Road – just beyond the Los Altos border in Cupertino. At approximately 3 p.m. July 19, a man wearing a black baseball cap, glasses and a black coat entered the bank and used a note to demand cash from a teller.
Additional crimes connected to Havens include the Aug. 19 robbery of the Chase Bank at 405 Blossom Hill Road in San Jose and the Aug. 25 robbery of the Wells Fargo at 7270 Bollinger Road in San Jose, according to the press release. A police spokesman did not provide information about related robberies in Sunnyvale and Cupertino because those cities are outside the department’s jurisdiction, but the sheriff’s office confirmed Havens is connected to the Homestead Road robbery.
During at least three of the crimes, the robber’s note indicated he had a gun, but no injuries were reported.
Anyone with relevant information about Havens and/or the crimes is asked to contact Detective M. Drago or Detective J. Hernandez of the San Jose Police Department’s Robbery Unit at (408) 277-4166.
