Los Altos is in the process of updating the city’s objective design standards, with the goal of making these requirements easier to navigate and better aligned with state housing law.

The city is asking for resident feedback in regard to new commercial, multifamily and mixed-use properties through a survey available at surveymonkey.com/r/5JXK87J.

“You don’t have to be an architect, don’t wait to share your thoughts on how Los Altos looks today,” said the city’s promotional Youtube Short.

The city’s website highlights the ways in which an update will improve design standards, noting that successful requirements will be carried forward.

The update will clarify these standards, making project review more efficient and equitable, according to the webpage.

This project started in August of this year and is expected to continue through early next year.
