After shutting down earlier this year, Century Theatres in Mountain View is set to reopen in time for the holiday season.
The theater, now Mountain View Cinema, is offering an improved cinematic experience with upgraded screens, seats and concessions, according to a press release sent out by the cinema’s parent company, Syufy Entertainment.
“We are excited to welcome guests back as Mountain View Cinema,” said Nancy Crane, vice president at Syufy Enterprises. “This theater is an opportunity to reinvest in a cherished community asset while creating a modern destination where audiences can come together and enjoy the magic of the big screen.”
The theater’s AXV Cinema Experience, featured in two auditoriums, promises crisper images and immersive sound with a Barco 4K laser projector and over 30 speakers.
Additionally, theater seating is being replaced and upgraded with personal tray tables and “luxury” seats.
“Every guest, in every auditorium, will sit in a brand-new luxury seat with a personal tray table, so they can settle in, spread out and enjoy their food and drinks during the movie,” Crane said. “It’s the most visible way we can show this community how committed we are to their experience.”
Concessions will now include Orville Redenbacher’s popcorn, Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, hand-scooped ice cream, along with classic movie snacks and beverages and pizza from local restaurant Tomatina.
