Emergency responders transported a 52-year-old Los Altos woman to the hospital with minor injuries approximately 9 p.m. Thursday after she flipped her SUV on Fremont Road in Los Altos Hills, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

Lt. Don Morrissey with the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department said that “it appears the driver avoided an animal” – likely a deer – “and possibly overcorrected and hit an embankment” near 7 Acres Lane.

She was alone in the car, according to Morrissey, and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He did not divulge details about her injuries.

The department will be conducting an investigation in the coming weeks, Morrissey said.
