The Los Altos Planning Commission Thursday recommended 4-1 approval of a design for a three-story multi-family residential structure to replace the former Adobe Animal Hospital building on 396 First St. in downtown Los Altos. The plan includes 20 condominium units with 36 underground parking spaces. Commissioner John Baer cast the lone no vote.

The city council is scheduled to review the design 7 p.m. May 24.
