The Los Altos City Council is scheduled to discuss at 7 p.m. today a new option by the Jeffrey A. Morris Group to build a three-story mixed-use building at the city-owned property at the intersection of First and Main streets in downtown Los Altos.
The Commercial Retail Sales zoning designation for the site limits buildings to 30 feet in height, which would be a two-story building. As per a provision in the zoning ordinance, the council could grant Morris an exception to build a three-story structure with a maximum height of 45 feet, if the project is found to have general public benefit to the downtown area.
