The driver of a pest control truck escaped injury Wednesday morning when his pickup flipped, but officials worked into the early afternoon to contain chemicals spilled during the accident.
The single-vehicle accident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Alta Tierra Road near the Robleda Road intersection in Los Altos Hills. The road is narrow and steep, and for reasons not yet revealed, the pest control vehicle landed on its side.
About a gallon of chemicals spilled during the accident, and the Santa Clara County Fire Department’s Hazardous Materials Team cleaned up the waste, and the pest control company properly disposed of them, wrote Stephanie Stuehler in an email to The Town Crier.
Joining firefighters at the scene were sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers. A tow truck summoned to remove the pickup arrived on scene at approximately noon.
