A Mountain View barber accused of numerous sexual assault crimes has been extradited back to the United States, the Mountain View Police Department announced Friday.
Franklin Enrique Sarceno Orla, a former Mountain View resident, faces 46 counts with potentially over 60 victims stemming from a 2024 sexual assault investigation launched by the Mountain View police.
An investigation started after two men reported being sexually assaulted by Orla. After Orla was charged by the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, he fled the U.S. and was later located in Guatemala. Orla’s extradition was authorized after several months of efforts. Orla’s capture and extradition occurred due to international coordination between the U.S. Marshals Service, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, the U.S. Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, the U.S. Embassy in Guatemala, Guatemalan authorities and the Justice Department’s Office of International Affairs.
