Mountain View Police detectives seek witnesses to a series of assaults Saturday (May 26) that left three people injured, including a woman allegedly rammed by a vehicle and then rescued by bystanders who flipped it over.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the injured remained hospitalized and no arrests had been made, according to Katie Nelson, police spokeswoman. She described the detectives’ investigation as “preliminary.”

The incident took place at approximately 2 a.m. in the parking lot of the Sports Page bar and grill, located in the 1000 block of Plymouth Street, according to police reports. Officers who responded learned the injured consisted of a man and a woman and a second man they had argued with inside the restaurant. The three had continued their disagreement outside, where the lone man allegedly used his four-door Ford vehicle (model unspecified) to strike the other two.

While some bystanders allegedly extracted the driver from the vehicle and attacked him, others flipped the vehicle on its side to remove the woman, who was pinned beneath, Nelson said.

Most of the witnesses to the vehicle strike and the driver’s beating left the scene before police arrived, and any additional information they can provide about what transpired is valuable, according to Nelson. Witnesses should contact Detective Dan Garcia at 903-6624.
