The Los Altos History Museum has scheduled a holiday event, “Catch the Spirit,” to highlight the historic J. Gilbert Smith House and the Museum Store, noon to 4 p.m. Nov. 16.
As they step through the front doors, guests will enter the holiday-decorated Museum Store, where the shelves will be stocked with a wide array of unique gift items. According to Karen Purtich, co-chairwoman of marketing, the store’s managers work hard to find great gifts at low prices.
“One year I bought a holiday tablecloth for $15 that was advertised for $60 on the manufacturer’s website,” Purtich said.
Guided tours of the Smith house will run throughout the event. The house, built circa 1905, will be decorated for the holidays, with music on the antique piano setting the mood. Refreshments will be served.
The Los Altos History Museum is located at 51 S. San Antonio Road. For more information, visit www.losaltoshistory.org.
