On Sept. 30, the Los Altos Complete Streets Commission met to provide updates and go over details behind its 2026 work plan.
The Complete Streets 2026 work plan highlights four main goals: complete master plan stewardship, improve pedestrian and multimodal paths, address public safety locations of concern and manage capital improvement projects.
These main goals are well underway, either through initial surveying, negotiation, implementation or other standard processes.
In this same vein, commissioners looked toward the future in order to begin preparing for 2027’s work plan. Following this meeting, the commission decreased from seven to five members.
Commissioners noted that these are steps toward long-term improvements, as many of the subgoals within these main goals include construction projects and various contract negotiations. But action is being taken.
