Mountain View police Thursday (Jan. 11) announced they made four arrests stemming from a Christmas day robbery and shooting. The arrests were made after an in-depth investigation involving several law enforcement agencies.

Police arrested four young men, two of them juveniles, in connection with a robbery at a 7-11 convenience store on Latham Street and, later in the day, the shooting of a 6-year-old boy at a residence in the 900 block of Clark Avenue. The boy was injured and is expected to fully recover.

Following thorough investigative work by Mountain View detectives, a Santa Clara County judge issued search warrants for several locations and arrest warrants for several subjects connected to these crimes. Police on Wednesday (Jan. 10) arrested:

• Tristen Villanueva, an 18-year-old Mountain View resident, charged with robbery, assault likely to cause great bodily harm, conspiracy and gang enhancement

• Gilbert Murillo, a 20-year-old Mountain View resident, charged with conspiracy and gang enhancement.

• Two male juveniles from Mountain View, charged with conspiracy and gang enhancement. One of these juveniles faces additional charges for a probation violation.

The operation was the result of a collaboration of multiple agencies, including the Campbell Police Department, Los Altos Police Department, Santa Clara County Specialized Enforcement Team (SCCSET), Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety, and the Mountain View Fire Department.

Police ask that anyone with information about the shooting to contact Detective Josh Gould at [email protected]. Spanish-speaking individuals are requested to reach out to Detective Angelica Espitia at [email protected].
