Seventy-five percent of Californian homes were built before there were any energy codes at all. So there is little wonder that many homes lose energy through their heating and cooling systems, and through leaky, poorly insulated ceilings, walls, and floors, with a potential to reduce such losses by up to 40 percent or more.
Workshop participants can learn how Energy Upgrade California (energyupgradeca.org), a new state-wide home energy-efficiency initiative is offering rebates up to $6,000 and more to help single-family home owners and renters to cost-effectively reduce energy losses, improve comfort, and help the environment.
