Mountain View fire crews quickly put out a blaze that caused thousands of dollars in damage to a commercial building on Grant Road the morning of Aug. 10.

Firefighters responded to a call about flames coming from an exterior structure attached to the building in the 1300 block of Grant Road. Crews arrived about five minutes later in the exterior enclosure used to store utility meters and dumpsters to the rear of a commercial shopping building.

The crew quickly extinguished the flames, preventing the fire from spreading into the businesses of the commercial structure, according to a news release.

No one was injured in the blaze. The cause remains under investigation. The fire is estimated to have caused about $5,000 in structural damage.

Mountain View Police provided traffic control for about an hour while fire units and equipment were at the scene.
