The South Bay Area, including Los Altos, Mountain View and Los Altos Hills, is under a heat advisory until 10 p.m. on Oct. 8.

Local temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s during the daytime, with milder temperatures into the late evening, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

NWS advises residents to stay hydrated and move outdoor activities to cooler parts of the day. Additionally, the advisory said not to leave people or pets in unattended cars.

Santa Clara County’s Office of Emergency Management reminded residents to check in on their friends, family and neighbors to ensure that they have access to cooling and are staying hydrated.

The statement also said that all Santa Clara County public libraries are air-conditioned and open to members of the public.
