Justice Vanguard, a Los Altos-based group dedicated to fostering communities of purpose through education, is premiering a new film, “Midnight Train,” 6:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 10) in the Grand Oak Room of the Los Altos Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave., Los Altos.

Midnight Train is a compelling documentary that unveils the untold story of Kiyoshi Taylor’s grandfather, who, after a harrowing encounter, embarked on a life-changing journey from the South to Ohio. Through this powerful film, Justice Vanguard invites viewers to explore the enduring legacy of Black resilience in the face of adversity.

Justice Vanguard Production Studio’s mission is to empower and educate the next generation of storytellers. Through mentorship programs, hands-on training, and the development of professional media, the studio works to bridge the gap between generations, fostering creativity, and amplifying underrepresented voices.

Seating is open, and the evening will feature a backyard Caribbean barbecue (including vegetarian and vegan options). Artwork will also be on display from local artists including Emory Douglas, the original Black Panther artist. After the film, there will be a panel discussion. Dinner is $20 per person.
