The California Interscholastic Federation has reached an agreement with PlayOn Sports to have the NFHS Network serve as the exclusive content distribution partner for the state’s high school regional and state championship events, the sports governing body announced last week.
The 10-year agreement starts this year on the streaming service, and the deal also includes the NFHS Network continuing to broadcast the football and basketball state championships on linear television while also adding the girls volleyball championship finals to the lineup as well.
Spectrum previously owned the rights for 15 years, beginning with the 2011-2012 school year.
The NFHS Network is a PlayOn Sports company, as is sports site MaxPreps and ticketing company GoFan. PlayOn Sports is a technology company offering website management, ticketing and streaming services for high school sports.
