A campaign kickoff event opposing Measure D was held Sunday at the home of Tamara and Stuart Fagin in Los Altos. More than 50 Los Altos residents gathered to voice their opposition to the measure, with several current and former city officials also in attendance.
Speaking at the event and as an individual, not as the mayor, Los Altos Mayor Sally Meadows said voters elect City Council members to study the issues, consider the community’s needs and make informed decisions on behalf of Los Altos. She questioned why residents should have to make decisions that are the responsibility of their elected representatives.
The Measure D opposition group says they encourage Los Altans to learn exactly what the measure would do, consider its potential repercussions and have a transparent discussion about its impact on the community before casting their votes.
