Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is providing grant money to help establish a Neighborhood Small Business Center near the Mountain View Transit Center to provide bilingual advising, training and technical assistance.
VTA is providing the money as part of a $200,000 grant fund aimed at community resilience and strengthening emerging community development corporations to support small business resiliency and housing preservation, according to a VTA press release. The nonprofit Enterprise Foundation will establish the center.
Other organizations that will receive money in the community resilience grant branch are the Latino Business Foundation Silicon Valley and SV@Home. VTA is donating $750,000 total across four different program areas to support projects that improve access to public transit, strengthen community resilience, expand inclusive engagement and celebrate community identity. The grant is part of VTA’s transit-oriented communities grant, now in its second year. The goal is to invest in the communities that VTA is present in to create more access to jobs, opportunities and transit.
