Residents of a Mountain View mobile home were able to return to their dwelling after emergency personnel extinguished a fire in the home Saturday morning.
Emergency personnel received a call at 4:36 a.m. Oct. 5 regarding a mobile home fire in the 1000 block of Space Park way. Fire department units arrived at 4:42 a.m., and residents of the mobile home were evacuated prior to arrival.
A Mountain View police officer, who arrived at the scene before fire personnel, extinguished the fire (which originated from an electrical exhaust fan) using a fire extinguisher. Firefighters verified the flames were extinguished after an extensive overhaul, which included an inspection of the roof.
Damages to contents and structure are estimated to be around $10,000; residents received a $250 gift card from the California Professional Firefighters Union Supplying Aid to Victims of Emergency Program.
