A fallen tree Thursday morning knocked out power lines in Los Altos and damaged a water main.
The tree fell across Camellia Way near Springer, landing on a water main. Residents on Camellia were without power most of the day. California Water Company crews repaired the water main, ensuring minimal disruption.
“We were able to turn valves on the water main nearby to significantly reduce the amount of water leaking but still maintain positive water pressure within the main, so that we prevent potential water quality issues as a result of the break.,” said Cal Water spokeswoman Yvonne Kingman.
Overall, PG&E reported 178 outages today in Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, 49 in Mountain View.
There was no early acknowledgment from officials that the wet weather of the last two days caused the tree collapse.
