The Los Altos Affordable Housing Alliance has scheduled the virtual event “What’s New About ADUs?” 7-8:15 p.m. May 26.
The year 2020 saw 22 new permits for accessory dwelling units in Los Altos. Building on that interest, LAAHA will present a panel that describes the process of building an ADU.
Panelists will include three developers who have worked with Los Altos residents on building ADUs: John Geary of Abodu, David Klein of Modern Empathy and Greg Popovich of Goldbar Builders. They will discuss how new laws affect their work and highlight some of their best practices.
Los Altos planning services manager Guido Persicone and senior planner Steve Golden will offer an overview of the process of working with the city. Several homeowners who built ADUs in Los Altos also will be on hand to relate their experiences.
