Three people were injured Thursday in a car crash on El Camino Real that may be DUI-related, according to the Mountain View Police Department.

The crash, which occurred just after 1 p.m., involved two cars at the intersection of El Camino Real and The Americana in Mountain View. A press release issued by the police department reported that all three individuals involved in the wreck were transported to the hospital, and the cars sustained significant damage. Police are investigating one of the drivers for being under the influence.

One woman suffered significant injuries, and the two others suffered moderate injuries. As of Friday afternoon, Public Information Officer Katie Nelson said she did not have an update on the conditions of those involved.

Police closed eastbound El Camino between Highway 85 and The Americana – along with the on-ramps from both Highway 85 north and south to El Camino – for several hours to investigate the crash. The press release stated that at approximately 2:20 p.m., one lane of El Camino Real going eastbound had reopened. Nelson said all lanes were reopened by 9 p.m.
