According to police, the suspect robbed the Bank of America on Castro Street shortly after 2:30 p.m., leaving the scene with more than $1,300 in cash – which he stuffed in a blue bag. He did not brandish a weapon during the incident, police noted.
Police describe the suspect as a white male with a tanned face, neck and arms. At the time, the suspect was wearing a tan-colored shirt with a second dark shirt underneath, as well as faded blue jeans, construction-style boots, thick-framed sunglasses and a “Callaway” brand baseball cap. Police added that the suspect had an unpleasant odor – indicating that he may not have bathed for a while.
Mountain View Police Sgt. Saul Jaeger advised anyone spotting the suspect to keep their distance.
“We really don’t want anyone approaching him,” Jaeger said.
