Sign standards before council

Los Altos City Council members are scheduled to discuss standards for erecting signs about public events at tonight’s council meeting. The issue arose from the recent removal of a Los Altos Relay For Life sign that was placed on property at San Antonio Road and Main Street in downtown Los Altos. Supporters of the event, scheduled June 12 and 13 at Egan Junior High School, were surprised to learn they needed city permission, and that permission of the property owner wasn’t enough. Tonight’s meeting begins 7 p.m. at Los Altos City Hall, 1 N. San Antonio Road. For more information, click here.
