At least one unidentified suspect broke into the Italian Delicatessen on Main Street Easter morning, stealing a meat-slicing machine and $100 in cash. Los Altos Police Captain Andy Galea said officers are investigating neighboring businesses’ security cameras for any suspicious activity.

Deli owner Tamar Sloan said the incident likely happened between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. April 4. She said her bread supplier arrived at the deli at 5:30 a.m. and didn’t notice any damage, but when Sloan arrived three hours later, the window had been broken and the $1,200 meat slicer was missing from the counter.

Galea said anyone with information is urged to call the police department at 947-2770.
