Trustees with the Mountain  View-Los Altos Union High School District met April 6 to discuss potential budget cuts recommended by the district’s budget advisory committee. The district is currently looking at $1.6 million in reductions for the 2010-2011 school year. The April 6 study session required no board action, but members are scheduled to meet April 26 to take formal action on reductions.

Steve Hope, in charge of district personnel, said the district does not anticipate any cuts in certificated staff, including teachers, but reductions could include classified personnel, which include office support staffers.
