New garbage service in Los Altos

Los Altos City Council members March 23 approved the contract for a new waste collection service provider, Mission Trail Waste Systems of Santa Clara. The agreement effectively ends a 58-year relationship between the city and Los Altos Garbage Company, most recently named Recology Los Altos. Mission Trail will take over waste and recycling services in September. For more on the story, see this week’s Town Crier print edition.
