The Los Altos Youth Theatre is presenting the summer musical comedy, Once Upon a Mattress, at the Cubberley Community Center, 4000 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto.
The show spoofs the familiar fairy tale, The Princess and the Pea. Set in Medieval Europe, the story tells of a frustrated royal community trying to marry off its prince.
All weddings have been postponed until this obligatory event occurs.
When a potential bride appears, she is put to the test of sensitivity to prove her aristocratic heritage.
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. Aug. 15, 16, 22, 23 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 16, 17, 23, 24.
Admission is $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors and children.
