An 81-year-old San Jose woman died Sunday (July 17) evening in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 280 in Los Altos Hill, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP reported no additional injuries or deaths.
The accident occurred as the driver of a tan 2002 Kia sedan traveled southbound just south of Page Mill Road, according to CHP. For unspecified reasons, the Kia veered onto the right shoulder and overturned onto its roof.
Although the driver was wearing a seatbelt, the force of the accident partially ejected her, and first responders pronounced her dead at the scene, according to CHP.
It appears drugs and alcohol did not factor into the crash, according to CHP.
Officials expect to release additional details about the accident later today (July 18).
