The project consists of replacing 6-inch fire hydrant heads (3 total), 6-inch fire hydrant heads and break-off/ check-valves (24 total), 6-inch fire hydrant heads and break-off/ check-valves with bury (3 total), 6-inch fire hydrant assemblies to existing gate valve (4 total), 6-inch fire hydrant assemblies to existing fire hydrant/ water main tee (4 total) and 6-inch fire hydrant assemblies to existing water main tie-in (4 total) complete in place and operable installation as shown on the project plans and the Special Provisions for the improvement of fire protection on a portion of Moody Road (including side-streets: Moody Court, Sherlock Road, Sherlock Court and Canyon Road), a portion of Page Mill Road (including side-street: Buena Vista Drive, Central Drive, Red Rock Road and Altamont Circle), Menalto Drive, Briones Way (including side-streets: Westridge Court and Via Cerro Gordo), a portion of Taaffe Road (including side-streets: Dezahara Way) and a portion of La Loma Drive.
The project also consists of installations that include removal and replacement of fire hydrant retaining walls (8 total), 1-inch residential water services (1 total), 2-inch residential water services (2 total), fire hydrant bollards (5 total), fire hydrant marker posts (1 location), gate valve boxes (38 total), pavement blue markers (62 locations), landscape improvements and repainting of existing fire hydrant heads and break-off/ check-valves (20 total) and bollards (16). Miscellaneous work includes replacing concrete rolled curb and gutter (110 LF total), striping, minor regrading and trimming of vegetation and landscape improvements around fire hydrants as shown on the project plans and the Special Provisions. Work also includes removal of existing water main structures including portions of 6- and 8-inch water mains at fire hydrant assembly tie-ins, fire hydrants, break-off/ check-valves, bury, gate valves, services and thrust blocks.
The project is located in both the unincorporated County of Santa Clara and Town of Los Altos Hills, California. The work will be done for the Los Altos Hills County Fire District (i.e., referred to herein as the “Owner” or as the “District”).

1. Description of Work: The City of Los Altos, Santa Clara County, California, invites sealed proposals or bids mobilization, removing of strips and markings, temporary striping, slurry seal, traffic control, permanent roadway strips and markings and all other items or details not mentioned above that are required by the Contract Specifications to apply a new slurry seal over existing streets as shown on the plan and specifications.
2. Location of Work: All of said work is to be done at various locations in Los Altos.
3. Pursuant to SB 854, all contractors or subcontractors bidding on public works projects must be registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR). No contractor or subcontractor may be listed on a bid proposal for a public works project (submitted on or after March 1, 2015) unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 [with limited exceptions from this requirement for bid purposes only under Labor Code section 1771.1(a)].
