Metabolic syndrome lecture on Tuesday

Drs. Jerry and Mariam Manoukian are scheduled to discuss their new book, “Metabolic Syndrome Survival Guide,” 7 p.m., Tuesday, at Los Altos Christian School.

Metabolic syndrome is a condition that occurs in 25 percent of the American population. Its symptoms are excessive weight and elevated blood pressure. It is related to the overproduction of insulin, typically in response to excess starch and sugar in the diet. For more information, call 948-3738.
