Exaggerations in cell tower story
I wanted to write regarding the comment from Jen Yeh in the Feb. 26 edition on the cell tower permission.
If the quotes from her were correct, there are exaggerations in her comments, plus some items that are not relevant.
First, she does not “live directly across the street” from McKenzie Park, but rather on Country Club Drive.
So there is Fremont Avenue, four lanes of Foothill Expressway and her street, Country Club Drive, between her and the park.
Her home is not directly across the street from the park, at least how I think most people define “directly across the street.”
Additionally, the house she bought was a single story and she tore it down to build a two- story home, which is entirely her choice and right. But when the noise and light distraction changes because of that, it is not the city’s problem.
I am not suggesting she doesn’t hear dogs barking or lights from the courts, but that was not the issue in front of the city council and is not relevant to their decision about a cell tower which is not even close to her home.

Tearing up grass in Cuesta Park!
I just learned that the dog run across from the tennis courts is going to be torn up and replaced by impermeable asphalt and used as a loud pickleball court.
There are many, many signs in Cuesta Park about gopher traps but no such sign about this injury to one of the most beautiful parks in Silicon Valley.
How does the Mountain View City Council have the right to do this with little or no input from the users of the park?
