Eat, drink and dance the evening away at Los Altos History Museum’s “Concerts in the Courtyard: Jazz Night,” scheduled 4-7 p.m. Oct. 26. The smooth stylings of Bay Area native Jonah Melvon and his band Left University bring the soulful vibes of Northern California to life.

Jonah Melvon is part of the Bay Area’s musical legacy, which includes iconic artists Sly & The Family Stone, E-40 and Mack Dre. His latest EP, “Almond Mocha,” showcases his unique blend of contemporary jazz and hip-hop, featuring collaborations with Adesha and Donnie Williams, and compositions by Bennett Roth, Lionel Briones and Brian Sheu.

The event is family-friendly and food is available for purchase from vendor Latin Asian Fusion.

“This concert is more about mingling and engaging with the community, rather than solely sitting and watching the performers. There will be seating available, but we encourage dancing to the music,” said Lisa Porter, the museum’s rentals event marketing manager.

Porter also emphasized the unique opportunity for couples to explore the museum’s courtyard as a potential rental venue, illuminated by evening lighting.

“It’s a great way for the community to enjoy the space, and for anyone considering the venue for events to see how magical it looks in the evening,” Porter said. “Bring a jacket and your dancing shoes.”

Admission is $20 per person, $10 for museum members. Gates open at 4 p.m. for food, drinks and socializing, with music starting at 5 p.m. To register, visit losaltoshistory.org/JazzNight.
