Los Altos High students, parents and staff members with a vested interest in traffic along Jardin Drive may be interested in attending tomorrow’s special Complete Streets Commission meeting where they will assess redesign options.

After a fruitless meeting earlier this month, the Complete Streets Commission directed engineers to come back with designs that incorporated more public feedback.

At a community meeting last month, residents along and nearby Jardin expressed their issues with each of the three options they were presented with from the city.

At the community meeting, one Los Altos High student, one teacher and assistant principal Derek Miyahara made up the bulk of the representation from the school – the rest of the 30 people in attendance were nearby residents.

City officials say they are inviting feedback throughout the entire design process, which is likely to go into the spring. The goal is for the project to be finished by the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, but engineer Donya Amiri ensured the public that the project would not be rushed if they need more time to design a configuration that is best for all members of the community.

The meeting will be held 6 p.m. tomorrow in the Sequoia room of the Los Altos Community Center, 97 Hillview Ave.
