Nakano-Matsumoto served for 10 years as executive director of West Valley Community Services and prior to that as associate director of Asian American Recovery Services also for 10 years. Early in her career, she worked as a school social worker, “giving her particular understanding of CHAC’s core services,” according to a statement from CHAC’s Board of Directors.
“She is passionate about making mental and behavioral health services accessible to families and youth,” according to the board’s April 28 statement.
Mountain View-based CHAC is a nonprofit mental health services agency founded in 1973 in a joint powers agreement involving Mountain View, Los Altos and Los Altos Hills, and three local school districts: Los Altos, Mountain View-Los Altos High School and Mountain View-Whisman.
