Investment group CEO named Entrepreneur of the Year
Traders Magazine recently named Stanford Investment Group Inc. (SIG) President and CEO Helen A. Dietz its Entrepreneur of the Year. The award is presented annually to an individual who pursues and succeeds in new ventures or businesses in financial markets.
“I’m truly honored to be named Entrepreneur of the Year,” said Dietz, who joined the Mountain View-based investment group in 1987 and became president and CEO in 2004. “This award is a reflection of the entire Stanford Investment Group team’s passion for our industry and commitment to our clients,” she said.
Founded in 1982, SIG is a boutique wealth management and financial planning firm that provides independent wealth management through three distinct service suites: family office, full service wealth adviser and core wealth management. The average tenure for a SIG client is 20 years.
“Our SIG clients have been with us for so long that they are as much a part of our firm as our employees. These trusted relationships are the number one reason for our success,” said Dietz, who has advised individuals with concentrated stock positions for the past 25 years.
Dietz received her Entrepreneur of the Year award at the 2014 “Wall Street Women: A Celebration of Excellence” event. The ceremony was held at the New York Hilton Midtown Hotel, where more than 150 guests from the buy side, sell side and broker and financial IT communities gathered to celebrate Dietz and other category winners.
Prior to joining SIG, Dietz was an adviser and financial planner with the boutique investment-banking firm Morgan, Olmstead, Kennedy & Gardner. A graduate of Rutgers University, Dietz earned a bachelor’s degree in business and English with a discipline in economics.
Dietz serves as a mentor with The Idea Village, a New Orleans-based community of entrepreneurs. She is a member of the American Funds Advisory Council and the Financial Women’s Association and has served on Schwab’s Regional Advisory Council. She currently serves on the board of Notre Dame High School in San Jose.
