The Human Library event where people bring their personal life experiences and stories for discussion is coming to the Los Altos Community Center Sept. 27 from 1-4 p.m.
People are the books and readers engage in honest, one-one-one conversations about an experience often misunderstood or stigmatized in society. Visitors can ask questions and challenge their own perceptions in a safe and respectful setting. Past event topics include PTSD, cult members, formerly homeless, chronic pain, depression and blindness. The event is free to the public. Los Altos resident and St. Francis student Avery Simonsen was responsible for bringing the event for the first time to downtown Los Altos.
