The Los Altos Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution paid homage to the East Coast tradition of battle reenactments with a smaller-scale celebration of the Battles of Lexington and Concord Friday at the Los Altos Community Center.

The group hosted a commemoration of the “Shot Heard ‘Round the World” at the Battle of Lexington on April 19, 1775, in the Grand Oak Room. The crowd, which included Los Altos city council members Jonathan Weinberg and Lynette Lee Eng, enjoyed songs of the time, a skit telling the story of the Battle and what led up to it from the perspective of people who were there, and other fun activities and refreshments.
