Since our first issue on Sept. 9, 1947, subscriptions to the Los Altos Town Crier have been voluntary. This approach allowed us to give advertisers broad exposure across Los Altos, Los Altos Hills and Mountain View, while ensuring that every reader could access the local news, sports and stories that make our communities special.
But the traditional model of advertising revenue covering operating costs has changed. Social media and shifting ad trends have reduced local advertising income and it no longer sustains our work. Like many community newspapers, the Town Crier is at a crossroads — the future of local journalism depends on reader support.
We need your help. By becoming a paid subscriber, you’ll ensure that:
• Local leaders are held accountable through independent reporting.
• Our talented journalists can continue covering schools, organizations and events that strengthen our community.
• The Town Crier remains a vital part of Los Altos’ fabric for generations to come.
If you’re unsure whether you’re receiving a courtesy copy or are already a paid supporter, please contact [email protected] for clarification.Use the QR code on the next page to subscribe and support the Town Crier’s future.
Together, we can keep local journalism alive and thriving.
