AT&T neglecting Los Altos customers
As a longtime Los Altos resident, we have been relying on AT&T fiber service for internet access. Starting the afternoon of May 13, the service was disrupted, affecting north and central Los Altos.
Even after multiple calls to their customer service site, AT&T has not been able to provide the expected time frame of service restoration.
It is now May 17. Why would it take more than four days to restore the service?
AT&T is the leader in the fiber-optic data communication field. If they are genuinely concerned over their service quality to their customers, we are certain that they can pull all stops to expedite the repair.
Our request to escalate this issue and our frustration through AT&T’s management chain remains dismissed. The latest reason offered pointed to the inaccessibility of managers due to the weekend. This speaks volumes.

Schools should educate, period
(State Senator) Josh Becker talks about Trump’s “reckless” education cuts and about resulting chaos and confusion in the schools.
Confusion is already rampant. Schools have forgotten that their basic purpose is to educate, not to feed those entrusted to them.
Becker is pleased that two daily school meals are guaranteed (I think that even carries over into vacations). He says they have grants for kitchens to prepare school meals. If the parents can’t feed their kids, how about feeding the parents, too?
The purpose of federal cuts is to balance the budget. We borrow extravagantly and have amassed a huge debt we can never repay.
When lenders awaken to this and realize the potential loss of lent capital, borrowing will come to an end. Financial realities will cause sudden and harsh reduction in federal money flow to many entities.
Which is more reckless, taking steps to balance the budget or criticizing those attempting to do it?
