PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Clerk of the Town of Los Altos Hills, California, has set after the hour of 7:00 p.m., on THURSDAY, July 24, 2014 in the Council Chambers of Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, as the time and place for a public hearing on the following:
INTRODUCTION OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE TO INCLUDE EMERGENCY SHELTER AS AN ACCESSORY USE IN THE R-A (RESIDENTIAL ? AGRICULTURAL) ZONING DISTRICT. (Section 10-1.702 of the Los Altos Hills Municipal Code)
In accordance with Senate Bill 2, jurisdictions are required to ensure that zoning encourages and facilitates emergency shelters and that emergency shelters only be subject to those restrictions that apply to development standards for residential uses in the same zone district. Emergency Shelter is defined as housing with minimal supportive services for homeless persons that is limited to occupancy of six (6) months or less by a homeless person (Health and Safety Code Section 50801(e)) and would become an accessory use in the R-A zone.
The proposed ordinance amendment has been deemed to be exempt from California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to 15061(b)(3) of the CEQA Guidelines.
The file for the application is at the Planning Department at the Los Altos Hills Town Hall, 26379 Fremont Road, Los Altos Hills, California and may be reviewed at that location upon request.
All interested persons may appear and be heard at said time and place. Written communications should be filed prior to the date of Hearing. If you challenge the action of the City Council in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written, faxed or emailed correspondence delivered to the Town at, or prior to, the public hearing.
