The Garden Club of Los Altos’ Feb. 25 meeting will feature a talk by Dr. Jane Packard – chair of the volunteer Orchards Commons Committee at the Los Altos History Museum – on “The Rehabilitation of the Los Altos Heritage Orchard.”

Packard, also a member of the Garden Club, will cover the restoration process of the Los Altos Heritage Orchard, which has been deemed a historical landmark.

In 2024, hundreds of young Blenheim apricot trees were planted in the city’s orchard and a new drip irrigation was installed. The orchard’s origins date back to the early 20th century when J. Gilbert Smith owned the land.

The meeting is scheduled to be held at the Los Altos Lutheran Church, 460 S. El Monte Road.

The meeting starts at 12:30 p.m. and the program begins at 1:30.

The Garden Club of Los Altos meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month except July, November and December.
