• Mission: Hidden Villa’s Summer Camp Program has been hosting campers on their 1,600-acre organic farm and wilderness preserve in Los Altos Hills since 1945. The first residential multi-cultural summer camp in the nation, this program is emblematic of their mission to foster educational experiences that build connections and inspire a deeper appreciation and respect for nature, food and one another.

The Duveneck Family, the founders of Hidden Villa, understood the power of outdoor exploration in self-discovery and well-being.

While hosting youth summer after summer, they knew opportunities to be in nature, on a working farm, with a diverse community, helped to instill a sense of environmental stewardship and community allyship. This is the legacy Hidden Villa emanates in their current programs.

• 2024 update: Hidden Villa Summer Camp is excited to be hosting day camps for children through grade 5 and overnight programs for youth entering grades 4-12. They will offer both five-day and 12-day overnight programs to better fit summer schedules.

Their teen programs provide a variety of growth experiences including learning about regenerative farming and nature, backpacking skills, leadership skills and making lifelong connections.

Summer camp provides youth with a deep connection to nature, food and their peers.

Their senses awaken as they step foot onto the farm. With excitement and curiosity, they are opened up to trying new things, problem-solving and self discovery. Campers get out into nature and become more conscious of where food comes from and conserving natural resources while reducing waste. Campers leave with a sense of confidence and healthier mindset provided by nature and the community.

• Why the Holiday Fund is needed: Thanks to the generosity of community supporters, last summer Hidden Villa was able to provide more than $252,720 in scholarship support to 183 campers.

Generous contributions provide the opportunity for hundreds of young people to experience Hidden Villa Summer Camp that would not otherwise have the opportunity.

The Los Altos Town Crier Holiday Fund enables Bay Area youth to attend summer camp through program underwriting and scholarship support, guaranteeing equitable access to the farm and wilderness exploration for all schools.
