‘Homage to Holidays’ set to air Dec. 6
The downtown Los Altos Festival of Lights Parade was canceled for the second straight year, this year by the pandemic and last year by inclement weather.
But organizers with the Festival of Lights Parade Association are pivoting by combining forces with the town of Los Altos Hills and the city of Los Altos to produce a holiday video for residents to enjoy.
The “Homage to the Holidays Video,” scheduled to air at select times beginning Dec. 6 on local television, will feature scenes from the Nov. 18 Los Altos Hills Westwind Community Barn lighting ceremony, a display of parade floats Nov. 29 and a tour of downtown Los Altos holiday lighting and decoration
displays.
The video will include appearances by Los Altos Mayor Jan Pepper and Los Altos Hills Mayor Michelle Wu offering holiday wishes from classic cars courtesy of Neal Rayborn.
The film is slated to air noon Wednesdays and 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays Dec. 6 through Jan. 3 on KMVT Channel 15 Comcast and Channel 99 UVerse AT&T.

MV firefighters host pull-up challenge
The Mountain View Firefighters Random Acts group has kicked off its inaugural Virtual Pull-up Challenge benefiting the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation.
Local residents can sponsor firefighters as they complete pull-ups for $2 per pull-up.
This year would have marked firefighters’ 16th annual Mountain View Firefighters Pancake Breakfast, which was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The group planned the pull-up challenge as an alternative fundraiser. The GoFundMe campaign has a fundraising goal of $5,000.
