Cheryl Renshaw and her husband Wayne are scheduled to spend Saturday and Sunday painting a 12-foot square of asphalt on the corner of University Avenue and Tasso Street as part of the event’s Italian Street Painting Expo.

Trained in architecture and design, the Renshaws designed a 3-D painting skewed to make the artwork appear different to observers at different angles.

See the project take shape and visit the rest of the festival 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday along University Avenue in Palo Alto. More than 60 chalk artists are scheduled to paint the streets. Booths manned by artists and crafters will line the avenue, interspersed with food and drink vendors, a sculpture garden and kids’ art studio.

Pick up the Aug. 29 edition of the Town Crier for full coverage of Renshaw’s street painting. Learn more about the festival here.
