ABC 7’s “The View from the Bay” filmed students on campus at St. Francis High School for the show’s segment on the fashions featured in Disney’s hit made-for-TV movie, “High School Musical 2.”

The visual stylist from “View from the Bay,” Audrey Mansfield, interviewed the costume designer from “High School Musical 2,” Zachary Bilemjian. Together, the two stylists selected four St. Francis students for a fashion makeover.

The stylists drew inspiration from the four lead characters in the movie: Troy Bolton, Gabriella Montez, Sharpay Evans and Ryan Evans. The St. Francis students chosen for the fashion makeover were Jessie Carter, Glenn Healy, Angeline Mirenda and Andrew Colford.

Last spring, the crew from “The View from the Bay” visited St. Francis to interview Daniel Ding, a student selected as one of the five ABC Top Scholars. They were impressed with the campus, so when they were faced with the assignment to visit a Bay Area high school for this shoot, they chose St. Francis.

“I picked St. Francis because when I was here for the Top Scholars shoot last June, I remembered the school’s being one of the most beautifully landscaped schools that I have ever been to,” said show producer Jason Fong. “The school was also filled with (such) a well-mannered and diverse student body that I knew I wanted to return in the future, and I am so glad we got the opportunity to do so.”

Dave Corona, director of photography on the shoot, said, “Working with Holly Elkins (director of marketing at St. Francis) and St. Francis High School was one of the best experiences and most professional shoots that I have been on in years.”

The segment aired on “The View from the Bay” Aug. 28 and is available online by visiting abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=viewfrombay&id=5597205.
