Lilies take laurels

Photography artist Susanne Karlak joins Will Maller, organizer of the current photography exhibition at Main Street Cafe & Books, during an artists’ reception last Thursday. The two are standing in front of Karlak’s prize-winning piece, “Calla Lilies.” Karlak is the 2002 winner of Popular Photography magazine’s national photo contest. The exhibition at the cafe, 134 Main St., Los Altos, runs through Feb. 3.
