Josephine Bouladier died at Redwood Villa in Mountain View Feb. 20. She was 95.
Mrs. Bouladier was the mother of Marge Bruno, longtime resident and former mayor of Los Altos.
Born in New York City in 1908, Mrs. Bouladier spent most of her adult life there where she worked as an office assistant. She moved to California in 1993 to be closer to her children.
“She had a very positive view on life and never complained or whined about any aspect of her life,” said Marge Bruno. “Her life was a lifelong period of learning.
“She played golf at the age of 70, and at the age of 90 decided to learn how to operate a computer so she could send e-mails to all her grandchildren.”
Mrs. Bouladier married Peter Scelsa in 1932 in New York City and raised their children in the city. Peter died in 1969.
In 1984, Mrs. Bouladier married Paul Bouladier, who preceded her in death in 2001.
In addition to her daughter Marge Bruno, a son, Nick Scelsa of Folsom, survives Mrs. Bouladier.
Additional survivors are: grandchildren Bill Bruno of Manhattan Beach, Mike Bruno Jr. of Los Altos Hills, Stephen Scelsa of Chappaqua, N.Y., and Ellen Betschcart of Richfield Conn.
